The campaign title is a tribute to the German Goethe’s masterpiece, “Italian Journey”, a best-selling travel literature classic, telling the beautiful elements of the landscape and the culture. Inspired by the cultural experience of 19th century, five women, coming from every corner of the world, travel to Sicily and discover the sweet magic atmosphere of the lemon-trees land. Stay tuned to discover the full campaign starting from March 2nd 2020. The enhancing of everyday, natural, personal beauty goes on. And it’s still “Hair Like You”.
The most delicate pigmentation process for Great Lengths hair. We are proud of our delicate hair coloring process, taken from the technique applied for cashmere, as it is fundamental to reach the ultimate quality of our products. The typical method of bleaching hair using ammonium derivatives damages the cuticle layer, thus compromising the hair’s texture and condition. The bleaching agent also damages the hair, leaving it opaque and fragile. Instead, the pigmentation process of Great Lengths’ hair is as delicate as the pigmentation of the most precious yarn of all: cashmere. Our de-pigmentation process does not damage the hair and permits the removal of the black pigment without altering the quality of the hair. We rather remove all pigments from the hair, instead of destroying them as it happens in ammonia decolorization processes, which are as fast and cheap as aggressive. Thanks to our delicate de-pigmentation process, the hair’s structural condition and texture are maintained, as well as the silky feeling of virgin hair. And the new pigment has a clean, empty space to occupy. This ensures that the molecule sits firmly in place and thus the color will not fade out… just like your cashmere sweater! Great Lengths was the first company in the world to use this kind of treatment for human hair; this process, performed on virgin hair of extraordinary integrity, guarantees unparalleled quality. Doing so, the hair will endure the most dynamic lifestyle and any following chemical treatment, preserving color intensity and vibrancy. Photo by Jean Philippe Delberghe @ unsplash.com
Holiday movies and music are as much a part of the holiday season as turkey and gifts. And they’re full of stylish and festive fashion. Cue the hairspiration! Donna Reed as Mary Hatch in It’s a Wonderful Life A must-watch during the holiday season! A large part of the film’s charm comes from Mary Hatch Bailey, George’s love interest played by legendary actress Donna Reed. Her wardrobe, makeup, and of course, her hair, are all on point throughout the film. Even after coming home in the middle of a snowstorm, Mary looks flawless; with a glow about her that is only accentuated by her hair. Always looking fashionable, poised, and elegant; she keeps a household running smoothly amidst holiday chaos and still somehow manages to look like a model in a Macy’s Christmas catalog. Donna Reed, as Mary Hatch, is quintessential ‘40’s style with her tresses styled in this sophisticated, retro curled coif. Classic! Beverly D’Angelo as Ellen Griswold in Christmas Vacation Beverly D’Angelo, as Ellen Griswold, puts up with a lot of holiday mishaps over the course of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, but never misses a beat with her hair. From her Hollywood waves, to her pulled back half-up hair, to looking stylish in ear-muffs, she never has a hair out of place. (Probably thanks to her ’80s era use of hairspray.) Mariah Carey, All I Want For Christmas The extremely popular, All I Want For Christmas Is You, was released by Mariah Carey in November 1994, and the song is still a permanent fixture on Christmas playlists. In the video, Mariah rocks two holiday hairstyles; perfect curls, and braids under her winter hat. The singer, actress and all-round diva’s sense of Christmas spirit and holiday fashion have been iconic and memorable over the years. In 1993, she wore her hair in a retro-inspired style, in 2010 her deep side part and perfect hair flip was the stuff Christmas dreams are made of. Ultimately, her Victoria’s Secret-worthy, always perfect, waves and big curls are Holiday hair goals at their finest! Gwen Stefani, You Make It Feel Like Christmas Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have definitely embraced the holiday spirit in their new video for, “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.” As they perform alongside a big band comprised entirely of children, they throwback to classic sophistication and glamour. Dressed in a beautiful retro gown overflowing with glitter, Gwen’s famous platinum blonde hair is worn short, with big, retro waves that will have you thinking of Marilyn Monroe. This iconic, glamorous, vintage-inspired style isn’t the only Christmas look Gwen gets style points for; for the promotion of her Christmas album she wears a super sleek bow-inspired bun and a slick ponytail finished with a soft wave and red ribbon. Both are beautiful and oh so perfect for a flashy yet elegant Christmas look.
We all want shiny, healthy hair whatever the weather, but the cold of winter can notoriously cause hair to become dry, tangled and frizzy. Luckily you can banish bad hair days by following our top 10 winter hair care tips. Share with your clients to maintain beautiful hair, despite the elements. 1. Shampoo Twice Wash less frequently, but shampoo twice – the first shampoo alone will not remove the full amount of build-up and toxins from the hair. 2. End Your Shower with A Cold Rinse A cool rinse seals conditioner and closes the cuticle, which can prevent the loss of natural oils from the hair. It will also help conditioning agents and hair masks work better, and allow keratin treatments and hair colour to last longer. Cold water has its benefits for the scalp as well! 3. Condition The weather can dehydrate hair, just as it can skin. Heat and friction (hello winter hats) interfere with the natural structure of hair and harm hair cuticles, leading to hair that is brittle and dull-looking. To retain moisture, avoid tangling, and stay soft and shiny, it’s worthwhile to invest in nourishing products and treat hair to a weekly hair mask. Give hair some TLC with Great lengths Extra Rich Hair-Mask. It helps nourish, prevents damage and smooths damaged cuticles by repairing and strengthening hair. 4. Follow up The high pH level of water can cause scalps to dry out, resulting in dandruff. To counter, we suggest following up with Great Lengths Anti Tap Water as a leave-in treatment after every shampoo. The complex formula of Panthenol, Biotin and their patented GSP-T regulates the pH level of the hair and scalp, helping to control dandruff. Bonus: it leaves hair silky, shiny and static free. 5. Brush Your Hair Three Times A Day Brushing extensions (and hair in general!) is key to healthy-looking hair during winter months. For perfectly shiny and untangled tresses, we recommend brushing hair three times a day: once in the morning, once throughout the day and once before going to bed. Try the Great Lengths Acca Kappa brushes; available in a handbag size, they’re perfect for taming tresses on the go. 6. Keep Knots at Bay with Fuss-Free Hairstyles Keeping hair smooth and tangle free is easier with simple everyday styles. A sleek ponytail is a quick, effortless style that will keep environmental damage at bay, while preventing tangling and knotting from windy winter weather. For something a little more intricate, try a fishtail braid. Be sure to avoid harsh hair elastics! 7. Use Less Heat Even though you must blow dry Great Lengths bonds or tapeline, you’re free to leave the length to dry naturally whenever possible. With excess dryness in the air already, using heated styling tools will only increase the level of damage. Cutting back on heat styling in the winter is essential- it will make a world of difference in the quality of the hair! 8. But Never Go Outside with Damp Hair When water reaches a freezing point, it solidifies and expands by almost 10 percent. When you step out with wet hair on a cold day, water molecules adhered to the hair's outer cuticle layer solidify and expand. This can cause the hair shaft to swell and the cuticle layer to lift, leaving hair vulnerable. When hair freezes, it naturally becomes less pliable—like an icicle, frozen locks can easily snap. 9. Line your Winter Hat Warning: Wool, cotton, and other coarse fabrics can cause split ends and breakage. For a hat that’s easier on the hair, always line wool, acrylic, and/or cotton hats with silk or satin. 10. Secure Your Hair Extensions Before Going to Sleep Securing your hair extensions for sleeping will help make styling your hair the following day much easier. To avoid tangling and to keep extensions smooth, braiding hair before bed is always wise.
